Graduation Day
Even when you were a little girl,
You only wanted to draw.
First with a crayon, and later a pencil,
You’d capture whatever you saw.
You had such a gift even at a young age,
And before long you started to paint.
Such dazzling images leapt from your brush,
Their beauty could make one feel faint.
As you grew you wanted to learn so much more,
So bags packed, you set off for Brighton.
University would develop your natural talent,
Your ambitions would then further heighten.
Sometimes were tough and you wanted to leave,
But you dug deep and refused to give in.
No challenges would stop you from reaching that goal,
And the prize that you wanted to win.
So now three years on I sit in this hall,
As proud as a mother can be.
You step onto the stage to receive your reward,
Through my tears I struggle to see.
A 2.1 degree in Creative Art,
Julie, you really have made me so proud.
You’ll always be special and have a rare gift,
That will make you stand out from the crowd.
New Job
You’re invited to a party,
Lesley's off to pastures new.
She’s been with us so long,
We thought we’d have a do!
She’s joining Peter Wilson,
To be his right hand girl.
He was obviously persuasive!!
As she’s giving the job a whirl.
Friday 26th September,
In the Ferry Inn at Pembroke.
We’ll have all been paid by then,
So no-one should be broke.
Meet 7.30 for 8.00 o’clock,
We hope that you can come.
Just leave your name at Reception,
And join us in the fun.
There’s a collection down in Admin,
If you can spare a coin or two.
We’ like to buy her something,
And would prefer it to be new!
(Not of eBay!).
Valentine
Kirsty,you are my world,
You’re everything to me.
Whether beating me at pool,
Or window shopping just for free.
Even when you're taking cough sweets,
Kissing you still makes me sigh.
With all my body I will love you,
Until the day I die.
Love David xxx
